Future Makers is a waste plastic design studio that brings creativity and innovation to sustainable art, design, and educational projects. Their mission is to empower partners to lead in sustainability by transforming plastic waste into valuable, artistic assets. Acting as a creative hub, Future Makers fosters collaboration and innovation among artists, designers, and makers, celebrating diversity and unique perspectives.
They approached me to design a mural for the facade of their Nottingham headquarters. Together, we explored themes representing their commitment to a circular economy and environmental sustainability. The result is an abstract, colourful sunset landscape that flows across the facade, intersecting with graphical shapes symbolising water and clouds, inspired by the nearby Trent Basin. This design not only reflects the plastic recycling process but also represents the interconnectedness of humanity, nature, and the environment.

“Natalie really impressed me with her level of professionalism and diligence in her approach to completing an ambitious mural in a very prominent location within Nottingham. Her pre-production concept work was excellent, making it very easy for me to get all the permissions necessary to enable it.
Throughout the project, her temperament was always well measured and consistent, listening to what I felt was important, whilst respectfully challenging me in all the right places. To top it all, the mural itself looks absolutely fantastic and was really well crafted. I'd highly recommend Talia”
